FAQ

Who is George “Cheechy Boy” Howley?

George is our son. He passed away in June 2025, but his joy remains unforgettable, and it lives on through the Be Cheechy Foundation.

What does “Cheech’d” mean?

It’s what we call an unexpected act of kindness, inspired by George’s nickname, “Cheechy Boy.” George loved Cheeching - that is, making people smile.

Why are you doing this?

When George was in the hospital, we started buying meals for strangers to bring a little joy into heavy days. Now we’re doing it across Ohio, in his memory.

Do I need to do something in return?

Nope. This gift is for you, with no strings attached. If you’d like, you can pass it on by Cheeching someone else.

How can I get involved?

You can donate, share your own act of kindness, or nominate someone who needs a Cheech.

How are you funded?

Our family, friends, and generous donors make it possible. Every dollar goes toward spreading joy.

Are you a real nonprofit?

Yes. We’re a registered Ohio nonprofit, and our 501(c)(3) status is pending with the IRS.
